Lake
Peräjärvi resides at the municipality of Alavieska, between two towns, Peräjärvi and Loppe. The lake is shallow and mostly surrounded by fields, east side limits to a wetland. Water is dark and lush but its quality is good. There are number of springs in the bottom, the lake is located in the groundwater area and surrounded by the ridges.
Fishing
Main fish is the perch but a rich roach population explains exceptionally high density of pikes. Due to water quality, also whitefish is found from the middle parts of the lake. Whitefish and zander populations are artificially maintained. Peräjärvi is also known as a good burbot place.

Where to start on Peräjärvi
- A shallow, dark and fertile lake with plenty of springs on the bottom.
- On the depth map the darkest shades (deepest water) are in the central part and western part, the lightest (shallowest) in the north-eastern part.
- Perch is the dominant species, and plentiful roach-type fish keep the pike numerous. The open water can occasionally give whitefish, and the lake is also known for burbot.
- Shallower water: perch, roach, pike. Deeper water: silver bream, whitefish, zander. If nothing bites, change the depth first and only then the spot.
